On the road between Europe and Asia - MARIHE Travel Blogging
The student experience about how is it to be MARIHE student, is put forth by the current MARIHE participant, social entrepreneur and volunteer, originally from Mexico, Melissa Gonzalez Soto. Melissa in her blog reflects how it is to be an individuum traveling, learning, and growing up when studying in Europe. We are sharing her blog post on the purpose of education in which she is reflecting on the public and private systems of education from comparative perspective. She puts forward that without the public education in Mexico she as many of her fellow citizen would not have the opportunity to study, to be mobile and to be an active participant in the social progress of not only national but the global society. Her perspective is another piece of the puzzle in the current debates surrounding the third mission of the universities, and their responsibilities to the wider communities. The blog is mostly in Spanish, however there are some English texts.
