Application Timeline & Overview

Applications for the 2026 intake are currently open.  The submission deadline (for the 1st application step) is 23 November 2025, 11:00 p.m. CET.

All MARIHE applications must be submitted through our secure online portal. We do not accept applications via email or other methods, as the portal ensures proper document handling and confirmation of receipt.

Announcement: Website Maintenance Work

Application Confirmation

You’ll receive an email confirmation after submitting through the portal. This may take some time due to technical processing.

Eligibility Review

We check that your application meets all formal requirements. You’ll be notified by email if your application is eligible and moves to review or your application is rejected due to missing requirements or documents

Phase 1 Results

You’ll be notified if you’re:
– Shortlisted for Erasmus Mundus scholarship
– Shortlisted as self-funded student
– Not selected for Phase 2

Final Results

You’ll be notified of your placement on the scholarship main list, scholarship reserve list, self-funded main list, self-funded reserve list, or if your application was rejected.

Next Steps for selected candidates

Chosen candidates will get a study place offer along with any applicable scholarship details. They’ll need to provide extra documentation for university admission and finish the enrollment process at University for Continuing Education Krems.

Important: Selection does not guarantee admission. Final admission depends on timely submission of additional documents and meeting all university requirements.

Appeals Procedure

Applicants may file a complaint within 10 days from the date the message regarding the selection result (placement) has been sent to the applicant (via e-mail). The purpose of this complaint is to verify that our rules of procedure have been applied correctly and that no error has been made while processing the application. The applicant is therefore asked to state a reason why he/she thinks that the rules of procedure have not been applied correctly.

A complaint has to be a typed paper letter with original signature and has to be addressed to: University for Continuing Education Krems (Danube University Krems), Department for Higher Education Research, MARIHE Secretariat, Dr.-Karl-Dorrek-Straße 30, 3500 Krems, Austria.

This letter has to be sent via registered mail to the above stated address or via e-mail as scan to marihe@donau-uni.ac.at .
