Erasmus Mundus Scholarship

Amount of Scholarship:

  • The Erasmus Mundus scholarship is calculated as: EUR 1,400 / month x duration of the Master programme (in months).
  • This means, the maximum amount of the Erasmus Mundus scholarship for the participation in MARIHE as a scholarship holder is EUR 33,600.

Coverage & Requirements:

  • The scholarships contributes to travel, visa, installation, and subsistence costs, calculated on a monthly unit cost basis, for the entire study period needed to complete the study programme (i.e. until graduation).
  • The study period covers study, research, placement activities, thesis preparation and defence in line with the EMJM requirements.
  • Scholarships can only be awarded in full to full-time students for the entire Master programme duration (max. 24 months).
  • Open for students from all over the world.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Mandatory physical mobility: There must be minimum of two study periods in two different countries (at least one EU Member State), with a minimum of 30 ECTS each. For MARIHE, this means: Austrian/Finnish residents cannot choose the UWK/TAU specialization in the 3rd semester.

  • Students with previously awarded EMJM scholarships cannot apply for another EMJM scholarship. In case of false declarations, the student has to reimburse all scholarships unduly paid and the participation costs of EUR 18,000.

Health & Accident Insurance:

  • All scholarship holders receive an insurance meeting the minimum requirement for the health and accident insurance coverage of EMJM students. The official document setting out these requirements by EACEA is availabe here.
  • The insurance also complies with the Special Clause for Austrian visa requirements.
  • MARIHE Secretariat registers the students with an appropriate insurance provider (group policy). Policy details and a Benefits Guide will be communicated to the students in a timely manner.
  • Students receive their insurance card via e-mail from MARIHE Secretariat.
  • Eventual claim management is handled directly between the student and the insurer. The MARIHE consortium is not involved in any claim handling.
