Aims and Scope

JRIHE informs researchers, administrators and policy-makers with a global and comparative perspective on higher education, addressing all types of higher education institutions by publishing scholarly articles that make original and significant contributions to the field. The journal embodies a dual focus on research and innovation: examining research and innovation within higher education as core topics while emphasizing innovative research methodologies about higher education as a fundamental motivation for scholarly inquiry.

Topics of Interest: The Third Mission of higher education, the social dimension as well as other topics related to equity in higher education. Equally, the journal addresses all themes in connection with higher education, including teaching and learning, the nexus of competences and skills, and future developments of the economy and labor markets. Other themes including the governance of and within higher education, quality assurance and quality enhancement as well as their connectedness to organizational development are welcomed.
