The MARIHE Alumni Network

The MARIHE Alumni Network aims to build an engaged global community of alumni by focusing on four key objectives:

  • Community Building: Establish and nurture a strong sense of belonging among alumni worldwide.
  • Career Development & Networking: Support alumni in their professional journeys through job sharing and networking opportunities.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration: Create platforms for alumni to exchange ideas, experiences, and collaborate on projects related to higher education.
  • Program Support & Engagement: Involve alumni in enriching the MARIHE program through guest lectures, feedback, and mentoring.

Its strategic board, headed by the president and vice-president and composed of a communications committee, events and networking committee, career development committee and program support committee ensure that the network works towards fulfilling its objectives.

Meet our Leadership Team

President

Dayana Sánchez is a Higher Education professional with nearly a decade of teaching experience and expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, assessment, and English language teaching. She currently serves as a Senior Expert in Educational Methodology at Semmelweis University, designing and conducting trainings for instructors. Passionate about integrating technology into education, Dayana focuses on creating learner-centered, context-specific training programs. She also holds leadership roles in the MARIHE Alumni Network and the Erasmus Mundus Students and Alumni Association (EMA), where she actively promotes student engagement and academic development to enhance the impact of Higher Education.

Vice President

Ana (Annie) Godonoga is a Teaching and Research Associate at the Institute for Higher Education Management, Vienna University of Economics and Business. She has more than eight years of experience as a higher education researcher and has worked on projects on the social impact of higher education, equity and inclusion, and quality and performance management at the OECD, UNESCO and in the university sector. Annie holds a Ph.D. degree from Vienna University of Economics and Business, a joint MSc in Research and Innovation in Higher Education from the University for Continuing Education Krems, Austria and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and a BA in Business and Economics from the College of Wooster, United States.

Overview About Current Projects

To achieve its objectives and develop its identity as a newly established network, the MARIHE Alumni Network currently focuses on four interrelated strands of work:

  • MARIHE Community Calls: aims to build a community by connecting alumni in informal webinar-like series featuring diverse professional experiences in academia, policy, international organizations or the business sector.
  • MARIHE Alumni Mapping Project: seeks to develop a comprehensive database of MARIHE alumni to support the MARIHE Alumni Board’s vision of fostering alumni engagement for professional growth and networking, while also contributing to the MARIHE consortium’s educational and strategic goals of developing higher education professionals and leaders.
  • MARIHE Alumni Mentorship Initiative: connects current MARIHE students (second year) and recent graduates with experienced alumni and relevant professionals working in diverse higher education sectors. The aim is to provide career insights, tailored guidance, and foster a supportive professional network, acting as a key bridge for smooth transitions from study to career.
  • MARIHE Alumni Brand Building: seeks to build and promote a strong, recognizable brand identity for the MARIHE Alumni Network, one that reflects its global character, shared values, and professional excellence.
