Final Results & Student Selection

Based on the overall scores, the MARIHE Admission Board forms a ranking of applicants. You will be notified about the outcome of the student selection and your placement:
– Scholarship main list
– Scholarship reserve list
– Self-funded (non-scholarship) main list
– Self-funded (non-scholarship) reserve list
– not placed (rejected)

Next Steps for selected candidates

  1. Candidates who are placed on a main list will be offered a study place and, if applicable, an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
  2. Selected candidates have to bindingly accept the study place by starting the admission process at University for Continuing Education Krems as coordinating institution. All necessary information will be provided. Please note: Selection does not guarantee admission. The final admission/enrolment depends on the timely submission of all required documents, incl. a legalization of the first degree certificate (if applicable), and the approval by the university administration.
  3. All selected candidates who started the admission process as instructed will receive our MARIHE Student Handbook with more information about the start of the programme, including information on visa, insurance, accommodation, travel issues, and all other practicalities. Furthermore, they will receive an official Letter of Notification confirming the study place and the Erasmus Mundus scholarship (if applicable), the tuition fee waiver, the mobility, visa requirements etc.

Appeals Procedure

Applicants may file a complaint within ten days from the date the message regarding the selection result (placement) has been sent to the applicant (via e-mail). The purpose of this complaint is to verify that our rules of procedure have been applied correctly and that no error has been made while processing the application. The applicant is therefore asked to state a reason why he/she thinks that the rules of procedure have not been applied correctly. Please note: It is not possible to appeal against the qualitative outcome of the review process.

A complaint has to be a typed paper letter signed by hand or digitally. It has to be addressed to: University for Continuing Education Krems, Department for Higher Education Research, MARIHE Secretariat, Dr.-Karl-Dorrek-Straße 30, 3500 Krems, Austria. The letter has to be sent via registered mail to this address, or via e-mail as scan to marihe@donau-uni.ac.at .
